There is no mistaken identity, Delta Goodrem is back on top of the charts and back in our hearts with her new role on Australia's hit new show The Voice. 


She burst onto the scene back in 2002 as Nina Tucker on channel Ten's soap Neighbours. Her debut acting role not only launched her career in acting but also singing - playing an aspiring singer on screen and off. Her debut single Born To Try launched her music career landing her on top of the Aria charts. A year later she followed up with two more ARIA chart toppers Lost Without You and Innocent Eyes. These songs featured on her first album Innocent Eyes which became the best selling Australian album of 2003 and went on to sell over 4.5 million copies worldwide. 


After the success of her debut album, Delta was sitting on top of the world. But this 18 year old's world soon came crashing down when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. As part of her cancer treatment she underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy which resulted in the lost of Delta's beautiful hair. 


"It's weird to see pictures of that time. In some ways the fact that I was so sick was so out there, and yet I kept it really private. No-one saw me on the days I was really sick...I was 18 when I was diagnosed and I had a number one album and single in the country. And in the UK, I was number two. It was such a bipolar year."


Since overcoming her battle with cancer, Delta has been involved with many charities in Australia, UK and USA supporting cancer fundraising events including the 2010 Stand Up to Cancer event in Los Angeles. We are truly inspired by Delta's strength and courage to overcome her battle with cancer at such a young age. Her beautiful uplifting spirit encourages her fans that anything is possible with the right attitude. "Health is my number one. If I'm feeling run down, I rest. But at the same time, you have to be tough, to know when it's time to work - you have to enjoy it while it's there, embrace it."




After going into remission in 2004 she began working on her next album Mistaken Identity. This number one selling album was inspired by her difficult times during her battle with cancer and had an overall darker theme than her previous album. With songs like A Little Too Late, Be Strong, Out of the Blue and the title track Mistaken Identity. The album also included a duet with her new love interest Brian McFadden called Almost Here. 




A few years later Delta's third studio album simply titled Delta landed her back on top of the ARIA charts. The first single In This Life which was co-written by Brian McFadden debuted at number one. This multi-platinum selling album was followed by Delta's Believe Again Tour which gave her the chance to get up close and personal with her Aussie fans for the first time. 


Delta's music career was not the only thing in the spotlight. Her rather public romance and break up with her fiance Brian McFadden put her on the cover of many tabloid magazines.  She then briefly dated Jonas brother, Nick Jonas. Despite the 8 year difference they dated for over 10 months, recently going their separate ways in February this year. So the now single Miss Delta is back with a sexy new look, ready to re-ignite her music career. 




After a few years performing on various US tours as a support act during 2010 and 2011, Delta returned to Australia as a Judge on The Voice Australia. Returning to her musical roots releasing a brand new single - Sitting on Top of the World. This uplifting song inspired a beautiful magical music video featuring Delta looking radiant, dancing and singing in the sunshine.

ECO ANGEL: Carrie Underwood

This month's Eco Angel Carrie Underwood celebrates her 29th birthday today. This all American Girl is hot off the heels of her brand new single Good Girl, the lead track from her upcoming album Blown Away due out this May. 




Carrie is much more than just the girl-next-door who won the title of American Idol in 2005 - she is a wife, daughter, beauty ambassador, humanitarian, actress and vegan. PETA crowned her the World's Sexiest Vegetarian back in 2007, since she received this honour Carrie has now made the switch to Vegan after she discovered she was lactose intolerant. Carrie grew up on a farm in Checotah, Oklahoma. "I grew up playing on dirt roads, climbing trees and of course singing."  She and has always loved animals, so much that she couldn't stand the thought of eating one of her own animals - so she because a vegetarian at 13. 


"Every since I was little I loved animals. If you told me I could never sing again, I'd say that was horrible, but it's not my life. If you told me I could never be around animals again, I would just die."


 


Carrie founded the C.A.T.S foundation (Checotah Animal, Town and School) in 2009 to give back to her home town where she makes donations to assist local schools buy music equipment for the students.   "I feel like it was a really good time to start something that could do good for others. I've had so much good fortune just poured over me... that it's definitely time to give back."


A few years ago she rescued a dog abandoned on the highway by it's owner. She took the injured puppy she nicknamed Stella to the vet and the groomer. A few days later Carrie found a new home for her. What a sweetheart! Carrie also has two dogs of her own, Ace and Penny. 


This small town girl is also involved with many charity events because Carrie loves giving back. She donates her time to the Make A Wish foundation and is involved with Pedigree Adoption Drive which helps raise awareness for dogs in need of homes. 


 




Carrie recently  performed for the US troops in the Middle East for American Idol's Idol Gives Back. "Everybody has the power to do something, to be a contributing force. I would rather people look back on my life and say 'She made the world a better place'. We can all do things like that and I believe that when opportunities arise for you to do good, you should do good."


Carrie wed her NHL hockey superstar beau Mike Fisher on July 10, 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia. Mike proposed to Carrie after a year of dating with a $800,000 dollar 12-carat engagement ring. This all american girl finally got her fairytale dream wedding with a little southern twist. Carrie looked radiant on the day wearing a Chantilly lace Monique Lhuillier gown. Her precious pup Ace even made a special appearance dressed in a cute pink & white tuxedo. "Mike was like 'He's in pink! What are you doing?' ...But he looked so handsome." 


 


Last year Carrie turned to acting with her feature film debut in Soul Surfer. She gave a heart warming performance as Sarah Hill, a church youth ministry leader. 


Ms Underwood may have stolen our hearts with her grammy award winning voice and down to earth girl-next-door smile, but it's her inner beauty that shines bright. Her positive, giving attitude certainly rubs off. So it's no surprise she recently became the new face of Olay. Carrie is the brand's first ever celebrity ambassador. 


 

Whether she's rescuing lost dogs, singing her heart out on stage or splashing her face with water in her latest Olay commercial - We are convinced Carrie Underwood is one pretty amazing Good Girl.

Katherine Heigl: Golden Girl

Katherine Marie Heigl (pronounced hai-gel) has been working in hollywood since a childhood. You may remember her at the young age of fourteen playing Nicole in the 1994 film My Father The Hero. These days Katherine is best known for her TV roles as "Isabel Evans" on Roswell and "Doctor Isobel (Izzie) Stevens" on Grey's Anatomy, the role she played so well for 6 years. 


 


Ms Heigl is stunning and elegant in her Elle Magazine photo shoot this month (January 2012). She also graces the cover of next month's Australian Instyle Magazine (February 2012) looking absolutely gorgeous in white. The new images promote Katherine's sexy her image, new movie and animal rights campaign. 




Katherine is one of our favourite celebrity animal advocates. We love her new "I Hate Balls" campaign to encourage people to adopt animals from shelters and help bring awareness to the number of dogs killed in animal shelters every year. 5 million animals are killed in shelters across the united states each year. Katherine's new I Hate Balls campaign is part of the Jason Debus Heigl foundation and is such a great cause.

All net proceeds from the sale of the I hate Balls shirts goes to the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation to spay/neuter pets and help stop the killing of animals in shelters. Kaherine & her mother founded the Jason Debus Foundation in honour of her brother who was killed in a car accident. Katherine is an avid dog lover herself having rescued 6 dogs of her own. 




This month Katherine trades her short sassy golden locks for messy long brunette curls for her role as Stephanie Plum in the new action comedy One For The Money. Ms Heigl is no stranger to playing the sexy/sassy comedic female lead with starring roles in Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth, Killers, Life As We Know It and New Year's Eve. 
Katherine scored 15 million for the lead in One For The Money, which includes her salary as one of the film's Producers. Currently on a world wide promo tour to promote the film which is based on the best selling novel by Janet Evanovich. The film opens in the US today, January 27th and in Australia cinemas on February 16th.

All I Want For Christmas Is You has become a Christmas classic - written by Mariah Carey & Walter Afanasieff in 1994, it is now the best selling holiday song with over 2 million digital downloads. There are 4 different versions available with the original and still the most popular version featured on Mariah's 1st holiday album "Merry Christmas". All I Want For Christmas Is You So So Def Remix featuring Jermaine Dupri and & Lil Bow Wow was released in 2001 to celebrate her Greatest Hits and last year's Extra Festive version was recorded for her 2nd Christmas album "Merry Christmas II You". In the video Mariah shows off her hot new post-baby body, after giving birth to twins in April. Her sexy new curves is thanks to her new diet plan from Jenny Craig. The first time Mum was eager to lose her baby weight after a difficult pregnancy and c-section. Mariah explains "I had a lot of weight to lose because I'd retained so much water. Someone recommended the "Jenny" program to me and it was exactly what I was looking for".  She also combined her new Jenny eating plan with aqua exercise and regular walks with her 5 Jack Russell pups, which Mariah nicknames "Dem Puppies".  




Mariah lost 70 pounds (32 kgs) on the Jenny diet program after giving birth to her twins Monroe & Moroccan on April 30th, 2011. She was so impressed by how quick she shred the baby weight she is now the newest Jenny brand ambassador. "I wanted to help create awareness about healthy eating and losing weight. My pregnancy and weight gain made me realise what some women grapple with all their lives. At one point I thought I would never see my bone structure again." 


  


Mariah revealed her daily menu on the Jenny plan in a recent cover-story and interview with US Magazine. The post-baby plan includes lots of fresh fruits & vegetables along with some of Jenny's classic favourites like her Personal Pizza and S'mores Bar. 


Mariah was recently recognised for her charity work receiving a Noble Gift Humanitarian Award in London on December 10th. She founded Camp Mariah in the early 1990's - funded by The Fresh Air Fund, a charity which helps inner city kids make choices about their education and career opportunities. Mariah has also received acknowledgements for her work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and also became an ambassador in 2006 for the World Hunger Relief Movement.

Alicia Silverstone: living the kind life

 


Our November Eco Angel is actress, vegan and author of The Kind Diet Alicia Silverstone. You may know her as Cher from Clueless or Batgirl from Batman & Robin, but Alicia is much more than just an actress. She is a mother, wife, brand ambassador, animal-advocate, best selling author, and Vegan. 




PETA crowned Alicia their 2004 "Sexiest Female Vegetarian" and in 2007 Alicia appeared nude in a PETA print ad and commercial promoting vegetarianism for GoVeg.com.

Alicia prefers to live a simple, kind earth-friendly life with her husband, new baby boy Bear (born May 5, 2011) and rescue dogs. Even her home in Los Angeles is eco-friendly with solar panels and an organic vegetable garden. Alicia Silverstone truly is living the kind life.
